Everest Outdoor Trekking Store - Kathmandu

We came here after visiting two other mountain equipment stores in the Thamel area. We wanted to purchase hiking poles, batteries and a couple of other items for our 3 week trek in the Everest Region.

We were impressed by the honest service and sales advice we received from Mr Bahadur Rai (the owner) and decided to buy the items here. All products proved their quality. E.g. all the poles worked perfectly during all three weeks of our trek (the screws for adjusting the height worked everytime and stayed firm under load). In the other stores we had tried, it was impossible to find 4 pairs of poles that worked (and we tested about 20) - here every pair we tried was good.

If ever in Kathmandu again, I would buy again at Everest Outdoor Trekking Store without hesitation and I would go here first.
