The length of just 14 days makes it viable for most trekkers, and while it does require a moderate level of fitness, you don't need to be a” gym bunny" or a world-class athlete to complete it enjoyably and successfully. After the exciting and scenic flight from Kathmandu to Lukla (2,860mt/9,383ft), we soon enter Sagarmatha National Park en route to the Sherpa capital of Namche Bazaar. Namche offers good shopping opportunities (for all kinds of trekking gear and attire), as well as two museums and some opportunities for side-trips to promote acclimatization.
