The Ghorepani Poon hill trekking is very much popular for short trekking in the Annapurna region. Trekking to Ghorepani Poonhill offers the breathtaking mountain scenery and a visit to the beautiful ethnic villages dominated by Gurung communities along the way. It is graded as easy, though you have to walk the entire way uphill climb through the rhododendron and bamboo forests until you reach Ghorepani at 2860 m.
Ghorepani Poonhill Trekking is suitable for those who are looking for a few days to spend holidays being close with nature, without involving in serious ascents. There is no risk of altitude sickness during the trekking. You walk mostly through the woods before you reach Ghorepani. Upon arrival at Ghorepani, check in lodge and stay overnight at lodge. You will wake up next day early morning to climb the nearby Poon hill for the spectacular view of sunrise over Dhaulagiri and Annapurna mountains. Every spring you find the forests in full bloom with rhododendrons at the backdrop of panoramic high mountains all around. You will return to Phedi via Ghandruk and catch a transport to Pokhara. This trekking is possible throughout the year except the monsoon season (July to August). The trekking trails are well developed with food and accommodation facilities.

An Outline Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival Kathmandu & transfer to hotel.
Day 02: Drive Kathmandu to Pokhara & transfer to hotel
Day 03: Drive to Nayapul (1050m) & trek to Tikhedhunga (1577m)
Day 04: Trek to Ghorepani (2675 m, 6hrs).
Day 05: Excursion Ghorepani to Poon Hill (3210m.) for sunrise view & Tadapani (2675m, 6hrs)
Day 06: Trek to Ghandruk (1950m, 6hrs).
Day 07: Trek to Nayapul & drive to Pokhara
Day 08: Drive Pokhara to Kathmandu & transfer to hotel
Day 09: Transfer to airport for final departure
