In 1963 AD Kanti Children's Hospital (KCH) was built up as an overall Hospital with the limit of 50 beds. At that point in 1970 AD, it was changed over to a Children's Hospital with the limit of 150 beds. The Government of japan started its inclusion in KCH improvement in 1973 AD when two Volunteers through japan abroad Cooperation Volunteers (JOCV), a birthing assistant and a medical attendant were dispatched to the clinic. From that point forward around 30 volunteers have been set at KCH.
