For the past five years, the Android user and developer ecosystem in Nepal has seen tremendous growth. According to official records, 95% of the country’s internet users are connected via mobile. Reports in the media about Android apps illustrate this growth. From local meetups to regular community workshops on Android, the main conversation among participants is how to publish apps to the Google Play Store. As developers, they are disappointed to find that there is no easy way to publish apps to global marketplaces due to the lack of international payment gateways. As a result, they have decided to use their existing in-house payment gateways and develop a local apps marketplace where developers can publish, buy and sell apps with ease.
